Dear Harold, Welcome to Rising UP! I am inspired by your positive outlook and your hard work! Neuropathy is no fun! I had it so severely that I felt like my feet were on fire, and I could not touch thenm to the floor. That was in the early 1990's. I have had no such pain since about 1997, a year or so after I started doing Tai Chi and Qigong. I believe it is the overall practice that restores the nervous system from the inside out. However, if I were to say what was the most effective part of the practice, I would probably say it was the energy work, along with breathing and meditation. Specifically, doing the microcosmic orbit was extremely beneficial. Doing that along with the healing movements brought relief for the neuropathy and also balanced my thermal system so that I could once again perspire and feel warm throughout my body. I am currently doing Wisdom Healing Qigong with Master Mingtong Gu's online courses, and I find them exceptionally effective in healing several aspects of my nervous system that were ravaged during my years of disability from multiple sclerosis.
Anna, Thanks so much for the reply! I know I need to do more and be consistent, to get the benefit. We have a lovely Tai Chi/Qigong teacher (Nancy Gardner - NG Energy) who's also studied Qigong with Master Robert Peng. She does a Tai Chi senior fit every week at Rockynol retirement center - GREAT! I did a weekend of healing Qigong with master Peng last summer in Lilydale NY last summer but didn't keep up with it all. It certainly is a journey. Still need to do microcosmic orbit but know it's a must! My legs/knees seem to be the latest ache with the neuropathy of the hands and feet. Grrrr. I keep plugging away and plan on starting a Qigong group at church with the help of UCC association minister, Rich Plan (Qigong teacher & Reiki master). I will look through all your stuff in time and pick out at least one DVD for the collection of learning. Lots of people in pain and you (and Nancy) inspire me to get more people involved. Thanks again! Maybe I'll come visit someday. ;{) Peace and healing, Harold
