The Jantar Mantar instruments measure precise time, declination of the Sun, Azimuth, placement of constellations, eclipses and much more. Accuracy was important for many reasons, including astrological calculations for determining the most auspicious marriage partners and dates for marriages. Don and I (both Scorpio) are shown in front of the Scorpio instrument. Our marriage of 47 years indicates we had a good matchmaker.
